AGM 2012
The 2012 AGM was held on 18 February, with a good turnout of members. We also upheld what is becoming a bit of a RACCS tradition and had our youngest club member, Samuel Miskelly, just 9 months old, joining us on the day.
Elisabeth Stark was re-elected as Chairman, Heather McRae as Secretary, Judith Noble and Lorraine Pontello were re-elected to our Committee for a further three year term, and Donna Johnson was also elected to serve on the Committee for three years.
The Club has had another good year, continues to expand both in the UK and overseas and has an even more exciting year ahead. In particular, we had a good discussion about plans for our first show with six people stepping forward to join our show committee – many thanks to all of you.
This month will also see the first time RACCS has been formally represented at a full Council meeting of the GCCF and we have also amended the Club constitution to allow for life memberships for 2013 onwards and to encourage members to mentor new breeders.
After the formal business we had our usual excellent lunch and chat, and photo competition awards. We had another good entry of photos this year, all of excellent standard, showing off our beautiful breeds to perfection as well as raising £40 for Club funds. The results can be seen on the AGM Photo Page.
The day was rounded off with our annual award ceremony for our 2011 points winners - you can see the results on the AGM Points Page.
We also gave special awards for four notable breed firsts – Sithee Madam Belladonna, the first Russian Black to win a Best of Breed award; Highlight Florabunda, the first Red/Cream/Tortie Abyssinian to win a Best of Breed award; UK & Imperial Grand Champion Silversmoke Spindrift, the first Blue Abyssinian to win both UK & Imperial Grand titles; and last but very definitely not least, the magnificent UK & Olympian Bronze Imperial Grand Champion Glendavan Roderick-Jaynes, the very first Abyssinian and also the first ever shorthaired Olympian title winner.
