06.10.07 - Russian Blue Breeders Association
There was a fantastic entry of 55 beautiful Russian Blues in competition at the Abingdon show, ranging in age from 14½ weeks to 12½ years old, plus a further 22 cats on exhibition or in competition. Exhibitors ranged from first-timers to veterans of the show scene, and a good time was had by all.
Overall best in show went to a 6½ month old kitten, Shoelina Nina Milkina. Nina had a ‘red card' day winning 1st in every class, including the Sashova special competition for best temperament out of an entry of 30 cats - she has a wonderful purr! Nina's ‘stable-mates' were also very successful with Gr Pr Shoelina Zelensky taking Best Neuter and Gr Ch Shoelina Minkus winning the Grand and reserve Imperial on the day. The Troika prefix was also very much to the fore, taking 6 certificates, including two Imperials.
New titles were won by Gr Pr Serennol Anastasia and Pr Sashova Zavidovitch – many congratulations to both of you. The Visitors' Choice of best cat went to another female kitten, Larksong Militza. Although there weren't any Scottish cats entered in competition they were still represented at the show and still managed to be winners, with a group photo of Dushenka cats winning the photo competition.
