02.04.11 - Abyssinian Cat Association
There were 33 Abyssinians entered in six different colours today, at the ACA's 25th championship show. The day started with the club's AGM, conducted in a truly civilised style accompanied by a bacon buttie and cup of coffee! By the time the formal club business was done the results were already beginning to appear.
Special congratulations are due to the two new title holders and six cats and kittens who enjoyed 'red card' days.
- Champion Glendavan Strangewaytotell (23a), continuing his meteoric show career by winning his third Challenge Certificate, Best of Breed, 1st in every class entered, Best Adult and overall Best in Show exhibit.
- Glendavan Kookaburra (23) on her show debut winning Best of Breed Usual Aby kitten, 1st in every class entered and Best in Show kitten
- IGrPr Glendavan Leonidas (23) who won another PC, Best of Breed Usual Aby neuter, the Imperial certificate and Best in Show neuter
- Grand Champion Syrinx Violetta (23) who won her third Grand Certificate and title
- GrCh Mikkar Little Mynx (23) who won her Imperial Certificate, enjoyed a red card day and was best female adult too
- Koperkat Bloody Mary (23a) who won Best of Breed Sorrel Aby kitten and also enjoyed a 'red card' day
- Glendavan Archimedes (23e) who won Best
of Breed Fawn Aby kitten and was also a 'red card' winner
Special mention is also due to the Best Male Pet, Simon, aka IGrPr Glendavan Azamour, at his first show since a horrific accident led to the loss of his lovely tail. Simon also enjoyed a red card day, following up his previous successes pre-accident when he won Best Neuter at this show three years ago.
And finally, the People's Choice
of pedigree exhibits and winner of the class for Best Show Temperament was Simon's dad, that handsome heap of perpetual purrs UK&IGrCh One Shot from A'far.
All-in-all it was another very enjoyable day, with the show management team doing everything possible to ensure the comfort and happiness of all the cats - and their humans too!
